Every month, I publish a little (picture) diary from Budapest with the highlights of the past month. This is July! There are a ton of events thanks to the summer season. Combining all that with work, working out, and my courses is a lot of work. At least I love doing it all!
Before July started I already had some plans: a picnic, the Redbull Air Races, maybe a visit to music festival BalatonSound, a visit to the Netherlands, a visitor from Germany and my birthday. No way I’d get bored!
The month was off to a great start. There were so many plans for the first weekend! We were gonna do a picnic on Saturday with the Wombats, on Sunday we were planning to watch the Redbull Air Races finales. Unfortunately we had to cancel the picnic due to rain and instead, I went to the mall with Stacey and Morgan.
We were happy the weather was a lot better on Sunday, so a few Wombats and I went to see the Air Races, after which we had a drink at 360 bar and Mexican food at Iguana Bar & Grill. A small group (including a few Irish guys we met that day) went to have a drink at a terrace somewhere. Way to start the month!

The weekend after was maybe even better: I went to Balaton Sound 2017! A few names you might know are Headhunterz, Robin Schulz, Kygo and Dua Lipa. I was especially excited to see Kygo again! And I can totally recommend Balaton Sound: it is right on the banks of Lake Balaton and literally on the beach (or what goes for the beach here in Hungary).
I also went home a few days this month. I can’t miss my nephew too long, look at that!
Back in Budapest, my German friend had also arrived. We did a bus tour, which was very nice thanks to the breeze we had during 35C weather and burning sun. And we didn’t have to do too much to just sit and admire the city! I liked it better than I thought I would… Anyone interested in a comparison between different bus tours?
We also had some great food. We gathered our dinner at Karavan Street Food and had breakfast at Cinnamon in Buda (exactly, that one where Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were spotted the next day, haha). After that it was time for Nina to go back home, and for me to get back to work.

Last week I celebrated my birthday; twice! Great success! On Wednesday with a more intimate group at BB’z Bar & Grill, and once all out on Saturday with Mexican food and margarita’s at Iguana and dancing and drinking at Fogasház. Best birthday ever!

And now it’s August! I don’t have a lot of plans yet, except for 12 days when my younger sister will be here. Of course, I do have a long list of things to show to her and do, but I also gotta get some work done. It’s also my last month of training for the Budapest half marathon! I’m excited!
